About the course

This training provides participants with awareness and understanding of the causes and effects of fire and helps them to identify and reduce the risk that fire presents in the workplace. Techniques for successful evacuations will be discussed and suggested. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to use extinguishing equipment.

Course Objectives

By the end of this training the participants will have:

  • A greater awareness of the dangers of fire and smoke
  • Awareness of all fire safety measures in the workplace
  • A knowledge of evacuation techniques, including accounting for personnel
  • Confidence in identifying and operating firefighting equipment
  • Awareness of potential fire hazards in the workplace
  • An ability to make basic risk assessments
